Our employee spotlight of the week is none other than Dayton Mays, who is 3rd generation at NLSS! Dayton started at NLSS on in August 2013, so he just hit his 10 year mark this summer.
Dayton is the operations manager at NLSS and works incredibly hard to make sure everything goes smoothly 365 days a year. Garbage never stops and neither does he. Not only is he an integral part of NLSS, he's also an avid member of the community - coaching youth sports and helping with Kiwanis in Lincoln City.
Here's a few fun facts about Dayton:
"My dad has worked for NLSS for 40+ years so growing up I always saw the benefits of working at NLSS. They have always promoted a family friendly culture with a great work life balance while being able to provide for a family. Attending college during the great recession of 2008 made me realize the importance of working in a recession free industry and the refuse/recycling industry is just that." โป๏ธ
"All of my favorite memories while working at NLSS involve major issues we have had to work through as a company. Whether its dealing with the chaos after the fires in 2020 or cleaning up an overturned trailer on Hwy 18, NLSS employees are great at coming together to make sure we get the job done as quickly and effectively as we can. There is a huge sense of accomplishment after collectively coming up with a solution an then following through with the cleanup." ๐
"My beautiful wife, Kali, and I both grew up in Lincoln City. We have two kids Madison (5), and Mason (3), who keep us very busy. Like most parents of toddlers/young children, most of our time spent outside of work involves running as much energy out of our kids as possible in hopes that they will tire out before we do." ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
NLSS wouldn't be who we are without Dayton and his family. We are beyond grateful for his dedication and work ethic. Thank you, Dayton! ๐
