Our employee highlight this week is Gabe Snow! Gabe started in March of 2024 and has been working at NLSS for just over 5 months.
Gabe is currently one of our long haul drivers who takes the garbage and compost to the facilities that accept them in Corvallis. He is a quick learner and does a wonderful job being timely, safe, and keeping on top of his truck maintenance. We have absolutely loved having him on the team!
Here are some fun facts about Gabe:
- What made you decide to work at NLSS?
I’m trying to build my life and a family; coming into being a driver with NLSS was a sure shot to build a solid foundation for my goals- they have an outstanding reputation for not only being a great company but also being good to their employees.
- What's your favorite memory while working here so far?
Training with Dennis Nisbet and being able to hear all of his stories and jokes from nearly 40 years here is probably my favorite memory so far.
- What are your hobbies?
My girlfriend and I attend several rodeo’s throughout the PNW every year. We also like to visit as many aquariums and zoos as we can. So far Point Defiance in Tacoma, WA is probably our favorite. I also love guns, hunting, and traveling.
- Tell us about your family.
My girlfriend, Elaina, and I have been together for coming up on 4 years now. She has spent the past few years being a barista to the Otis community before going into phlebotomy, but has quickly realized her love for making coffee. We have a 3 year old Bassett Hound named Otis who is the most stubborn but he’s also the coolest little hound dog you’ll ever know. If he loves you he’ll start screaming (literally) and will bring you the closest thing to him as a gift when he sees you.
We are so grateful you joined the team, Gabe! Thanks for being an incredible driver for us and sharing some of your story. Everyone be sure to waive to Gabe in the big 53' trailer next time you see him (he might even give you an air horn honk if you motion) 😉
