Garten Services Tour

We had the opportunity to tour Garten Services, a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Salem, Oregon. They take all the mixed recycling that we haul to them from your curbside roll carts. The facility uses robotic sorters and employs incredible human sorters to organize each of the different type of materials into their respective areas and remove any garbage from the mix. These separated materials are then sent to the end markets where they're made into new products.
Garten Services are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides vocational, day activity and retirement services for people with developmental disabilities and long-term mental illness. "The mission of Garten Services is to support people with disabilities in their effort to contribute to the community through employment, career, and retirement opportunities. Our actions increase society’s awareness of human potential." We are so grateful to be working with them!
